On the morning of May 31st, 2024, Ben Ramster, the chief editor of the Institution of Civil Engineers( ICE) and the editor of the journal, Zhong Jie, visited and exchanged with the School of Transportation. They held an offline lecture and exchanged ideas with the faculty and students of the school on organizing journals and publishing papers. Xu Chengcheng, the vice dean of the School of Transportation, Professor Deng Yongfeng, the deputy editor of the ICE journal Geotechnical Engineering, Professor Guo Yanyong, the editor of the MULTRA journal, Ni Junjun and Professor Wang Jian, the administrative assistant and assistant editor of the MULTRA journal, and Ma Xiaomeng attended the meeting together.
Ben Ramster introduced the historical background of the Institution of Civil Engineers( ICE) and its publishing house, as well as its 36 journals and the review process. He also shared practical tips for submitting papers on the theme of how to publish papers, including hot research areas in relevant fields, common reasons for rejection, journal collection processes, and tips for paper graphics and tables.
