The 8th International Symposium on Cement Concrete Pavement in China, Japan and Korea was successfully held

The 8th BESETO(China-Japan-Korea) Cement Concrete Pavement Symposium, co-hosted by the School of Transportation at Southeast University and Detong Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd.( a manufacturer of vibration mixing equipment), was grandly opened in Xuchang, Henan, a historic and cultural city, from July 2nd to 4th, 2024. The conference invited more than 70 representatives from China, Japan, and Korea to the Detong Conference Center in Xuchang to discuss the historical evolution, current technical issues, and future development prospects of cement concrete pavement.20 speakers on-site and online shared the technical aspects of cement pavement design, construction, and maintenance in China, Japan, and Korea.



On the morning of July 3rd, the opening ceremony of the conference was jointly announced by Professor Huang Xiaoming from Southeast University(Chinese chairman), Professor Yoon-Ho Cho from Chung-Ang University in South Korea( Korean chairman), Professor Tatsuo Nishizawa from Ish ik awa National College of Technology in Japan(Japanese chairman), and Dr. Zhang Liangqi, Chairman of Detong Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. Professor Ma Tao, Dean of the School of Transportation at Southeast University (Chinese chairman), delivered the opening speech, warmly welcoming the cement concrete pavement experts from China, Japan, and South Korea. He pointed out that there is still room for significant technical improvement in the design, construction, and maintenance of cement pavement, and expressed his sincere wish for the success of the conference. Following the opening ceremony, Professor Zhou Yumin from Tongji University, Professor Yoon-Ho Cho, and Professor Tatsuo Nishizawa gave keynote speeches on the application of cement pavement in their respective countries.
