On March 18th, the Xiong'an Smart Transportation International Forum and China Communications Future Science and Technology Innovation City Industrial Development Conference, sponsored by China Communications Construction Group and the China Highway and Transportation Society, and guided by the Ministry of Transport and the Xiong'an New Area Management Committee, was held in Xiong'an New Area. Dai Dongchang, Vice Minister of Transport; Zhang Guihua, Member of the Party Group and Secretary-General of the Chinese Association for Science and Technology; Zhang Guohua, Member of the Standing Committee of the Hebei Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Working Committee of the Xiong'an New Area, and Director of the Management Committee; Huang Wei and Li Keqiang, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering; Weng Mengyong, Chairman of the China Highway and Transportation Society; and Wang Tongzhou, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of China Communications Construction Group, attended the event.
The theme of the forum was Smart Transportation, Creating the Future. The forum focused on the construction of digital intelligent transportation and industrial ecology in the new area, inviting numerous authoritative experts and scholars from both domestic and international to discuss intelligent travel, connected vehicles, smart transportation technology and industry development, global smart transportation development trends, and future smart city construction. It also provided suggestions and contributions for the promotion of future smart transportation construction and related functional relief, based on the creation of a digital intelligent city in the new area.
Academician Huang Wei attended the event and delivered a speech. In his speech, he emphasized that we should aim at the technology high point of smart transportation, seize the development opportunities of the new generation of intelligent transportation management systems, human-vehicle-road collaborative systems, and future autonomous transportation systems; promote the service iterative development of smart transportation, making synchronous changes to the logical and physical frameworks of smart transportation systems; and promote the experience upgrading and optimization of smart transportation, addressing the development needs of vehicle networking, and constructing a new generation of traffic signal control systems based on the unit-system-platform architecture, improving the intelligence and reliability of system operation.
China Communications Group has taken the construction and operation of Xiong'an-China Communications Future Science and Innovation City as the carrier, and jointly signed with 11 core member units including China Highway Society, Highway Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, Southeast University, China Mobile, China Telecom, China Unicom, Huawei, Tencent, Qianfang Technology, and Hikvision Smart Link to jointly create a smart transportation industry community. Southeast University is the only university signing unit.
Chen Jun, Dean of the School of Transportation at Southeast University, participated in the signing ceremony and, as a specially invited guest, participated in the salon discussion after the opening ceremony. He shared the latest concepts and practices of smart transportation development around hot topics such as intelligent travel, smart transportation, smart cities, and their technology industry innovation development concepts and models. Pei Minshan, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of China Communications Construction Group, Wang Shuangjie, Chief Engineer, and Wang Yueping, Deputy General Manager of China Communications Xiong'an Investment Co., Ltd., attended the event and gave keynote speeches.
2023 is the opening year for the comprehensive implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, as well as a crucial year for Xiong'an New Area to implement the requirements of the Two Sessions, build a high-standard and high-quality demonstration area, accelerate the relocation of industries, and quickly achieve the Five New goals. As an important battleground for the new round of technological revolution, smart transportation will bring significant opportunities and changes to the world, inject new momentum into the development of Xiong'an New Area, and the School of Transportation at Southeast University will continue to participate deeply in the construction of the Xiong'an New Area, striving forward on the path to building a powerful transportation nation.
