Multimodal Transportation Starts Publication! The First English Journal Published by School of Transportation


Co-created by Southeast University and Elsevier, Multimodal Transportation (MULTRA) starts its first issue on October 2021.

Multimodal Transportation's chief edtitor is professor Meng Qiang and professor Liu Pan. Professor Liu Zhiyuan is the excutive editor.  The journal answers the call of “China to enhance global competitiveness in transport” and “China's comprehensive transport network layout”, aiming to further develop new modes of transport infrastructure and modern transport network, creating a high level academic platform of multimodal transportation. The journal is now the first English academic journal focusing on synergistic development of integrated transportation and multi-mode transportation in the world.


Brief introduction

The development of 5G, big data center, AI, industrial internet and new technologies will reshape the future of the world's transportation system. It is the new trend in the transportation research to create a green, efficient, smart and safe multimodal transport network and to design integrated transportation systems of highway, railway, waterway, etc.


Multimodal Transportation is devoted to provide a high quality platform for academic communication both in and abroad. Double-blind peer review mechanism is adopted, and each round of review takes 3 to 4 weeks.


Multimodal Transportation is a journal of multi-discipline, including a wide range of specialities like transportation, logistics, economics, urban planning, etc. The journal especially pays attention in integrated and new transport technologies, discovering branches like planning, network analysis, transport safety, intelligent transport, big data, automatic drive and etc.


Multimodal Transportation will publish original research papers and review article including: 

1. Theoretical research.

2. Empirical research.
