On September 22th, “Active Mobility Think-tank Alliance” was established in Beijing, and Professor Chen Xuewu from school of transportation of Southeast University took part in the event representing our school as the first set of alliance members.
The Active Mobility Think-tank Alliance was initiated by China Academy of Urban Planning & Design, and 31 transport research institutes, universities and companies from 19 cities in China applied to join the alliance.
In the event the round table forum “green travel and shared bicycle” was held, discussing topics like the values shared bicycles have on peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality, the current problems of active mobility, the important aspects on the future policies and transport planning, the relationship between local government and market in the process of shared bicycle development in the view of urban governance, the practice of active mobility in Beijing, Shenzhen, Chongqing and Nanjing, and etc. The forum is hosted by the vice senior engineer of China Academy of Urban Planning & Design Kong Lingbin. Professor Chen Xuewu took an active part in the discussion.
Taking great efforts in developing green transport is China’s vital method to actively address climate change and realize the target of peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality. The establishment of Active Mobility Think-tank Alliance boosted consensus in the green transport industry and reflected the call of our times. Our school will keep working on the key research of “top equipment, top technology, top service”, to open a new chapter of urban transport development.
