On November 28-29, 2020, the 3rd National Symposium on Transportation Geotechnical Engineering, sponsored by the Chinese Institution of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering of China Civil Engineering Society and undertaken by Southeast University and Jiangsu Society for Geotechnical Mechanics and Engineering, was successfully held in Nanjing, Jiangsu. This symposium was held by a combination of offline live meeting and online video live broadcast.
More than 200 representatives including Professor LIU Pan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Southeast University, Professor ZHANG Jianmin of Tsinghua University, also the Chairman of Chinese Institution of Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering of China Civil Engineering Society and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor ZHAI Wanming of Southwest Jiaotong University, also the Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and YE Yangsheng, the General Manager of China Academy of Railway Sciences, attended the opening ceremony of the symposium. Professor LIU Pan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Southeast University, delivered a speech on behalf of the university, and the opening ceremony was presided over by Professor LIU Songyu, a distinguished professor at Southeast University.
With the theme of Powerful Transportation and Geotechnical Engineering Country, this symposium performed 15 specially invited reports and 34 special reports on subjects such as transportation geotechnical engineering survey, transportation tunneling and underground engineering, foundation treatment, slope and supporting structure, seismic and environmental vibration of transportation geotechnical engineering, and special soils in transportation geotechnical engineering, etc. These reports demonstrated the latest research results and advanced engineering application technologies in the fields of theoretical innovation, intelligent testing technology, and intelligent engineering practice on transportation geotechnical engineering in China.
